The countdown to Christmas has officially started, and there's no better way to get into the spirit than to head to one of London's many Christmas market events.

This weekend, Greenwich Peninsula - London's supersized new neighbourhood opposite Canary Wharf and right next to the O2 - is hosting a free two-day event with food stalls, pop-up shops,

Showstopping neon signs set in a giant gateway installation by lighting artists God's Own Junkyard will welcome you to the event in style, while live music, DJ sets and performances will continue throughout.

Curated by HemingwayDesign, the markets will offer a great selection of fashion, food and homeware. Sample some of the best produce from London's most renowned and small producers while you shop for unusual gifts and original designs from emerging fashion, beauty, art, lifestyle and interior designers.

You can also join in wreath making workshops with London florist Rebel Rebel, gift wrapping classes - and even learn macramé.

Shop from 10am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday, with food, drinks and DJs continuing until 11pm.
