The 2018 Serpentine Pavilion by Mexican architect Frida Escobedo closed its doors at the weekend. However, it has already found a buyer.

Spa operator and technology firm Therme Group snapped up the 38-year-old’s secluded courtyard installation in Kensington Gardens for an undisclosed sum.

It has walls of concrete roofing tiles, a curving mirrored ceiling and a shallow pool.

Therme Group, which has offices in London and around the world, designs and builds spaces where each step is an invitation to discover natural wonders.

The company is planning to display Escobedo’s 5,823sq ft structure in “selected locations” as part of an arts programme.
