West London love-in as top chefs cook up their roasts with the most

The culinary stars of London’s deep south west are coming together for a roasting

A Brook Green restaurant is celebrating the best of west London’s food scene by hosting a series of Sunday roast takeovers with some of the area’s top chefs.

British brasserie Mustard is enlisting Saturday Kitchen regular and owner of The Victoria in Sheen; Andy Needham, chef patron of L’Amorosa in Ravenscourt Park; and Marc Wainwright, head chef at Le Vacherin in Chiswick for the lunches.

Each chef will cook up a take on their favourite roast for the series of what Mustard are calling West London Sunday Roast Love-Ins.

Marc Wainwright will kick off on May 14 serving roast leg of lamb with duck fat roast potatoes, sprouting broccoli, glazed carrots, Yorkshire puddings and homemade mint sauce, followed by apple crumble and clotted cream for pudding.

On June 25, Andy Needham will whip up mustard-glazed roast beef served with Yorkshires, roast potatoes, sugar snap peas, thyme-roasted carrots, gravy and horseradish in a nostalgic take on those he had during his upbringing in Yorkshire. This will be followed by bread and butter pudding with aged balsamic strawberries. The latter are probably not quite as popular in Yorkshire.

Finally, on July 9 Paul Merrett will cook a more summery roast of peppered chicken, chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables, summer greens, roasted charlotte potatoes and — again — Yorkshire puds. To finish, there will be custard tart and raspberry sorbet.

Tickets for each roast will cost £25, including a welcome cocktail, the roast and dessert. Bookings can be made at info@mustardrestaurants.co.uk from 1.30pm on each day.
