London’s first naked restaurant, The Bunyadi, was a resounding hit when it launched in the spring, with more than 45,000 Londoners joining the pop-up’s waiting list keen to experience dinner in the nuddy in Elephant & Castle.

So perhaps it’s not surprising that it’s coming back. And that this time it will be permanent.

Its founder Seb Lyall has revealed that he is on the hunt for a new site in the capital and that he hopes to confirm plans within the next six months.

The new site will follow the same principles as the pop-up, where diners were given a locker, asked to change into a robe and had their phones confiscated.

At the candle-lit tables — each enclosed by a bamboo screen — they could choose to either bare all or keep their robe on.

They tucked into Caveman-style wood-grilled meats and raw foods served on handmade clay crockery, all designed to be ‘as naked as the diners’.

The announcement of a permanent site follows the release of tickets for a naked pool party in Shoreditch next month and a recent summer naked rooftop bar — seemingly Londoners just can’t keep their clothes on.
