It was obvious to most people living on planet earth that the breweries' unnatural obsession with rolling out endless Irish theme pubs would do nothing other than provide a canvas upon which other brands could be drawn.

Goodbye Scruffy Murphy's, the world won't miss you. Hello Cane, you're kinda welcome. Anything would be better than it was - and Cane is a significant addition to West Hampstead, bringing with it the minimalist elements of the style bar.

The well-to-do folk in NW6 seem to like it, and the Stella and Kirin beers on tap go down well with the raucous after-work crowd.
