Deserted Tube stations and subterranean tunnels will be opened up next month as part of the London Transport Museum’s annual Hidden London festival.

This biggest year yet will see around 17,000 tickets go on sale, providing access to four usually off-limits locations.

Guests can venture into disused Piccadilly line station Down Street, which was used as a Cabinet office by Churchill during the Blitz.

They can take a tour around 55 Broadway, the former home of TfL, or explore the labyrinth of dark and deserted passageways that exist under busy Euston station.

Or visit the war-time bunkers beneath Clapham South station, which have since been used to house Caribbean migrants who arrived on SS Windrush in 1948, and thrifty visitors to the Festival of Britain in 1951.

Browse our gallery above to find out more about the ‘hidden’ sites and get a taste of what there is to see.

Hidden London tickets go on sale on Wednesday April 20, with tour dates starting on May 7. Register for advance booking at ltmuseum.co.uk/enews.
