Traditional logic would tell you that toilets weren’t really the place for eating or drinking. But, think again — London is flushing away that idea.

In recent years former public loos across the capital have been transformed into bars, restaurants and cafés, all enticing you to step inside, pull up a seat at the urinal and enjoy the sanitised surroundings. And, no doubt, spend more than just a penny.

Browse our gallery of transformed toilets above. And, if you’re really keen, perhaps even embark on a cross-London crawl of the sort that Thomas Crapper would be proud — though given it stretches from Clapham to Kentish Town, these array of conveniences aren’t all that convenient...
