The seasons are changing, there’s a freshness in the air and the nights are drawing in — autumn, it seems, is here to stay.

Summer may be setting but London isn't slowing down, with a host of great events taking place across September, including fantastic theatre, art exhibitions and dance offerings, live music and more.

While it's tempting to spend this time of year huddling inside, cosying up in a pub or watching a film, there's much to discover out and about.

London looks especially beautiful at this time of year, too — the city's green spaces are constantly changing and adapting, offering some pretty setpieces for keen photographers to capture.

So, pull on your coat and scarf, grab your phone and Instagram to your heart’s content at these stunning autumn London locations.

Richmond Park

The best place to see wildlife in the city, the beautiful Richmond Park is home to herds of roaming deer. The way the light is this time of year makes photos particularly gorgeous.

Alexandra Palace

Stunning views of the city skyline, along with well-maintained gardens and trails, make this a must-visit autumnal spot.

Isabella Plantation

The Isabella Plantation at the south end of Richmond park is stunningly colourful in the summer, but takes on a more mysterious feel at this time of year.

Highgate Cemetery

This, the resting place of Karl Marx, is one of the biggest cemeteries in the city and its sprawling grounds offer plenty of room for exploration.

Hampstead Heath

Hampstead Heath is full of muted colour and wistful landscapes over the autumn months – capture it while you can.

Greenwich Park

Whether Instagrammers spend their time at the top of the hill, under the shadow of the Royal Observatory or down by the National Maritime Museum, they're guaranteed to find a good shot here.

Regent's Park

The huge expanses of open park space, combined with ornate gardens and intriguing pathways, makes this one of the most relaxing spots for an autumn walk.

The Phoenix Garden

One of the most peaceful spots in north London can be found inside this community garden in the Borough of Camden.

Sloane Square

Searching for great seasonal shots doesn't always have to be about leafy landscapes. The fountain in Sloane Square always looks good.

Victoria Park

This sprawling London park is crying out to be explored by keen photographers. Be sure to check out the beautiful Chinese Pagoda towards the south of the park.

Brompton Cemetery

This Grade I listed green space and site of special historic interest is home to some stunning architecture, including a beautiful chapel.

Hackney Marshes

Hackney marshes might be full of dog walkers and Sunday league footballers at this time of year, but the marshes themselves are full of Insta-friendly spaces.

Barnsbury Woods

This idyllic spot is the smallest nature reserve in the city, found next to St Andrew’s Church in Islington.
