Bompas and Parr have launched a Crystal Maze-style 'snow globe' at Aqua Shard

White Christmas: The interactive snow globe will sit in the window of Aqua Shard

Christmas decorations have arrived with a little more pizzazz than usual at one sky-high London restaurant, as a site in the Shard have launched a "Crystal Maze-style" snowscape.

The Mad Hatters of the food world, Bompas and Parr, have created an "interactive snow globe" that sits in the window of Aqua Shard, 31 floors above the capital.

The sculpture, which launched in November 21, resembles a modern take on the traditional Christmas tree, complete with frost covered branches – though its angular, pyramid shape most resembles the building that it lives in.

In Crystal Maze-style, the installation features an interactive snowstorm inside. Guests can reach inside through a pocket cut into the tree; those who manage to grab one of the golden snowflakes whirling around will be given a complimentary rum-based cocktail, served itself in a snow globe, before being entered into a draw to win a meal for six at the site.

Two "Golden Hours" — where guests can attempt to catch a snowflake — run at 11.30am-12.30pm and 5-6pm, Monday to Friday.
