The X Factor has been hit with ‘fix’ accusations after Honey G was lined up for a performance in Scotland on the night of the live final.

Honey G – real name Anna Gilford – was listed to play at Kirkcaldy nightclub, Kitty's & Kandy, on December 10.

The news was announced on the venue’s Facebook account in a post which read: “We've just confirmed the most talked about act in Britain at the moment!

“Get down to Kittys on December 10th where we have.. HONEY G !!!”

The post has since been deleted.

Fans of the show were quick to claim the show is a fix with one commenting: “X factor final is this date this mean the shows a fix lol.”

Another posted: “X factor final is the 10th December who’s to say she won’t be there.”

Addressing the accusations, a PR for the venue said Honey G was secured to perform only if she is eliminated from the competition before the final, The Sun reported.

An X Factor spokesperson said: “There is no foundation to any fix claims. The club was mistaken in their post that she would be there on December 10 and the post has since been removed.”

"North Wheezy" resident Honey G has proved controversial and was accused of being a "joke" act.

Boy George also took aim and said it was "ridiculous" that she was still in the competition.

"For a singing show, it's ridiculous," he told Good Morning Britain.

"The fact that Freddy [Parker] got sent home and other people got sent home and she got kept, it's like a joke."

Honey G said she was "insulted" that people are struggling to take her seriously and described herself as the "finished article".

Speaking to What's On TV she said: "I know some people have been saying they don't think I'm real and that I'm a prank that's been set up by the producers, but those haters need to check themselves because I AM the finished article.

"I might not have the most amazing voice but I'm a heavyweight rapper, singer and producer and I write my own lyrics, so I've got real skills to bring to the table. To be regarded as a joke is really insulting."

Others have noted an uncanny resemblance between Honey G and Karren Brady, and joked that the contestant is Brady in disguise.
