The wait is almost over.

Some of the nation's best singers have been whittled down to three acts who will sing for survival in a bid to win The X Factor 2018.

Simon Cowell will be hoping for Scarlett Lee to grab gold, while Louis Tomlinson will be rooting for Anthony Russell or Dalton Harris to take the crown.

Who is in the final?

Three acts remain in the competition – and two are on the same team, mentored by the One Direction star.

Dalton Harris, 24, first wowed the judges with his voice when he performed Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word during the audition stage. He admitted it had taken seven years to pluck up the courage to try out for the show.

Anthony Russell, 29, made a triumphant return to the show this year after bowing out of last year’s show for “personal reasons”. He was later contacted by Tomlinson on Twitter, which proved to be the start of a beautiful friendship. After a year of mentoring, Russell made it back to the stage and all the way through to the final.

Hoping to beat Tomlinson’s duo to the top is Scarlett Lee, 21, who is representing Cowell. Another one for the successful comebacks, Lee was booted out during last year’s Six Chair Challenge but came back stronger than ever.

How does the final work?

The three acts will sing for their lives during a two-hour Saturday show, including the famous duets round.

Sunday’s show will be the last chance saloon for the remaining two acts, with one being declared the winner come 9pm.

Who are the musical guests?

A whole host of musical stars will be performing at the SSE Arena, Wembley on both nights.

They include James Arthur, Ellie Goulding and Anne-Marie who will wow with their latest hits. Take That, who are about to enter their 30th year in the business, will perform on Sunday night.

Robbie Williams is rumoured to be opening the show on Saturday night with a medley of hits – and could possibly join his former band on stage the following evening.

When is The X Factor on?

The X Factor Final part 1 airs Saturday, December 1 at 7.30pm on ITV, with part two the same time on Sunday.
