Crack open the strawberries and cream – it’s Wimbledon season again and this year the tournament turns 140. But if you weren’t lucky enough to secure yourself a centre-court seat for its anniversary, you can still keep up with all the action on TV. Here’s how to watch your favourites compete for tennis’ top prize.

When does it start?

Wimbledon kicks off on Monday, July 3 and runs for just under two weeks until Sunday, July 16.

What channel is it broadcast on?

The BBC has broadcasted Wimbledon for 90 years, and 2017 is no different.

Tennis fans can keep up with all the on-court action on BBC One and BBC Two during the day which will broadcast the biggest matches from 1:45pm and 11:30am respectively on weekdays (though times these may be subject to change) and at 12:15 on BBC One and 2:30pm on BBC Two on Saturdays.

A selection of less high-profile matches will be available to watch on the red button.

Middle Sunday (the Sunday at the end of the first week of the tournament) is usually reserved as a rest day, though last year play took place as bad weather had caused a backlog of matches ahead of the final.

Highlights show Today at Wimbledon will air nightly at 8:30pm on BBC Two.

Who’ll be presenting it?

Veteran Wimbledon host and former pro tennis player Sue Barker will be back at the All England Tennis Club, joined by greats of the game such as Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe and Pat Cash.

BBC Sport presenters Liz McKenzie, Ore Oduba, Rishi Persad and Phil Jones will be providing reports and features.

Today at Wimbledon will be fronted by Clare Balding, who’ll update viewers on all the key updates from that day’s play, with analysis from experts.

When is the final?

Both finals take place over the second weekend of the tournament. The women’s final is currently scheduled for Saturday, July 15, with the men’s final on Sunday, July 16.

Can I watch it online?

BBC Sport will be hosting live streams of the matches from each court on its website alongside commentary, analysis from sports pundits, and interactive features.
