Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Aljaž Škorjanec are the latest couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

The aristocrat and her dance partner became the sixth pair to exit the competition in Sunday night’s results show.

Weymouth and Škorjanec, who received 26 points from the judges during Saturday’s live show, ended up in the bottom two with Mike Bushell and Katya Jones.

Both couples then performed their dances again before the panel decided which would return next week.

Weymouth and Škorjanec failed to win over the judges with their samba to Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s I Don’t Care, with all four opting to save the BBC Breakfast presenter and his dance partner, who performed a Charleston to Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.

Craig Revel Horwood described Bushell and Jones’ routine as “the most challenging and the better dance” while Motsi Mabuse said their dance was “much clearer to read, much easier to follow and more prepared.”

Bruno Tonoili praised their performance as “more entertaining, richer, more powerful” and pointed out that Bushell had even “covered for the professional’s mistake.”

Though head judge Shirley Ballas did not need to use her casting vote, she admitted that she would have also saved Bushell and Jones.

Reflecting on her stint on the show, Viscountess Weymouth said she had loved Strictly “more than anything I’ve done in my entire life” and praised her partner for being “so patient” and “teaching me everything.”

“Thank you, I want to be friends forever because you’re just amazing,” she added. “I never wanted to let you down, I’m just heartbroken.”

Škorjanec added: “You never ever let me down from the first day of rehearsals when I walked in. I’m the only professional to have danced with an actual lady on Strictly Come Dancing.

“From day one in rehearsals, your dedication, to go from a non-performer, non-dancer, to achieve what you achieved on this show, I’m lucky it was me that taught you how to dance.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on November 9 at 6.45pm.
