Tom Cruise has revealed that he was required to reshoot a stunt from new film The Mummy 64 times.

The actor, who was appearing on The Graham Norton Show to promote the blockbuster, explained that he persuaded the studio to create a real zero gravity environment for the action scenes.

“I had to convince the studio to let me do it and Annabelle [Wallis] and I had to do the scene 64 times.”

He also spoke about how the experience had left many of the cast and crew feeling a little unwell.

“It took us two days and the crew was flying around and vomiting in between takes. You couldn’t train for this.

“Normally stunts take months of prepping but we just did it. It was wild and I can’t believe the studio actually let me do it!”

Co-star Wallis, who appeared alongside Cruise on the show, described working with the Top Gun star as “incredible” but added that she was pleased to have avoided vomiting on him.

“Can you imagine being cast with Tom Cruise? If you get any job you’re excited but doing a stunt with him that he has never done before is just incredible. And, not vomiting on him”.

The Peaky Blinders actress also chatted about an awkward moment she’d had while catching up on the BBC show with her parents.

“I was in a sex scene and watching it with them was so awkward and afterwards my dad said, ‘Well, we know where you get that from! Good girl!’”

Also appearing on Norton’s red sofa this week is Zac Efron, promoting new movie Baywatch, with Beth Ditto performing her new single in the studio.

The Graham Norton show will air on BBC One tonight at 10.40pm.
