This Morning viewers have praised Eamonn Holmes for "tearing into" Oxfam's Director of Fundraising during an interview on the show.

Tim Hunter was on the programme to address the Haiti sex scandal that has rocked the charity this week and was asked some difficult questions by the visibly-angered host.

The representative explained: “What has happened over the past few days has been really shocking. And it has been reported that we have many people who have decided to stop giving to us.

“They’re wanting to ask a lot of questions.”

But Holmes became particularly incensed after Hunter suggested the same thing might be happening at other organisations, accusing the director of "smearing other charities".

“Wait a minute this is like the football league. You’re saying it isn’t just us. It’s all competition. This is not what it’s about,” he said.

“The real scandal is when I was a child at primary school, we were asked to give money to Oxfam.

“You have taken people’s money and sympathy and you have messed it up.”

Fans of the show were impressed with Holmes’ "tough" stance.

One wrote: "Maximum respect for #Eamonn Holmes ripping into #Oxfam on #ThisMorning. He ain’t holding back."

Another commented: "Well done @EamonnHolmes on. @thismorning Nice to see someone who isn’t afraid to challenge someone making excuses for disgusting corporate behaviour."

“Brilliant interview @EamonnHolmes #ThisMorning so much passion and disgust at the Oxfam situation...well done!” tweeted a third.

This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
