After Rita Ora made some tough (and controversial) decisions last week on the X Factor concerning which girls survived the Six Chair Challenge, this time it was up to Nick Grimshaw to decide the fate of the boys.

The notoriously intense round of the show finds the judges having to once again narrow down the singing hopefuls, who perform in front of a live audience to try and earn one of six coveted chairs, signifying a place at Judges’ Houses.

However, once all six chairs are filled, any successful singer could still be swapped out for another contestant – meaning nobody is safe.

Grimshaw chose Che Chesterman, Seann Miley Moore, Ben Clark, Simon Lynch, and Tom Bleasby as his final six, who will all be heading into the next round of the show.

However, those decisions didn’t come without drama. 21 year-old Mason Noise lost out on a seat after clashing with Simon Cowell, who dubbed the singer an “a***hole”. Mason complained about his lack of screentime in the early part of the series, and also invited the Six Chair Challenge audience to film his performance on their phones, against the rules of the show.

Papasidero, famous for wearing wings during his performances, also lost out on a place. Though he was initially chosen for a seat, he was later swapped out for Josh Daniel.
