So there we have it – Lord Sugar has chosen his two finalists for The Apprentice 2015.

The decision came following the infamous interviews round of the show, where Sugar calls in a few associates to give the remaining candidates the grilling of a lifetime. No CV or business plan is safe.

First to receive the good news was Joseph Valente, who proved himself to be a businessman with genuine potential after shaving off his ridiculous moustache.

He gave clear and honest answers to the questions flung his way, and even survived a Lord Sugar trivia quiz after claiming to have read the head of the show’s biography.

A candidate in the true Lord Sugar mould, Valente is hoping to secure an investment for his plumbing business.

“You’re a business that I can understand, I also understand that you’re very determined,” Lord Sugar said, confirming Valente’s place in the final.

Vana Koutsomitis is the other candidate to make it to the final. Her business plan for an app that combines mobile gaming with Tinder-style dating holds a higher risk, but could reap significant rewards if it comes to fruition.

“I’m a gambler,” said Lord Sugar. “I’m going to take a gamble by allowing Vana into the final.”

Less lucky was Charleine, who was the first candidate to lose out. However, she was praised by Lord Sugar, who said: “I do admire your drive, your inspiration, and your hard work and efforts.”

Gary ‘Mr. Corporate’ Poulton was also fired, with Lord Sugar claiming to ‘not understand’ his digital events-based business proposal.

Richard ‘Tricky Dicky’ Woods was in for a particularly tough time in the interviews, as it emerged that his proposed business was very similar to an existing one he already owns with his brother.

Woods also disowned his business plan for its waffly, jargon-heavy tone – it was described by new interviewer Linda Plant as “bull****”.

While he proved a strong candidate in many of the tasks, winning twice as project manager, he was seemingly unwilling to give up the 50% stake in his old marketing business until the very end, among various other concerns.

Who will win in the final? Vana’s new-found tech start-up, or Joseph’s old-school plumbing business? Tune in on Sunday to find out.
