Vick Hope could have what it takes to take home the coveted glitter ball trophy.

The Capital FM Breakfast presenter is the favourite to follow in the footsteps of 2017 winner Joe McFadden with her partner Graziano Di Prima.

Hope has had her odds of becoming the BBC ballroom champion, slashed from 7/1 to 2/1, according to Betfair.

Hot on her heels is former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts who is placed at 7/2 while presenter Stacey Dooley is third favourite with odds of 7/1.

Susannah Constantine is currently the least likely to win with odds of 125/1.

Betfair Spokesperson, Katie Baylis, said: “It’s Strictly-Eve and before a competitive dance step has even been taken, we are already seeing a huge amount of interest from punters in this year’s competition.

“Vick Hope is our 2/1 favourite having been heavily backed by punters after she was announced as one of the contestants at odds of 7/1.

“The other big movers have been Stacey Dooley and Danny John-Jules, with Dooley’s odds slashed from 12/1 to 7/1 and John-Jules shortening to 8/1 from 14/1 following a flurry of bets for the pair after the sneak preview we got two weeks ago.”

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will welcome 15 celebrities onto the dancefloor on Saturday night.

Dooley, who is paired with Kevin Clifton will make history by becoming the first contestant ever to dance the Quickstep in week one.

John-Jules sparked fears he would miss the opening week after he was left with swollen toes following his rigorous Foxtrot training with partner Amy Dowden.

Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli will return to judge the competition.
