Strictly Come Dancing stars Debbie McGee and Alexandra Burke are reportedly embroiled in a ‘bitter feud’ and ‘barely talking’.

There’s said to be tension in the air backstage on the BBC ballroom show head of this weekend’s Blackpool special, as McGee has launched a ‘military operation’ to keep her dance secret, while Burke is ‘openly boasting’ about her routine.

A source told The Sun: “There is real drama between Alexandra and Debbie. Obviously they’re both very strong dancers and everyone expects them to reach the final.

“But with every week that passes, things become even more strained between them. Blackpool is normally a big celebration but it’s likely to be extremely uncomfortable around those two because of this feud.

Rival: Alexandra Burke with Gorka Marquez

“Neither of them is showing any sign of winding down on this. The hardest part of it all is that their dance partners, Giovanni [Pernice] and Gorka [Marquez] are the best of mates.

“But they’re both fearless and determined to win. There are going to be fireworks at the top of the [Blackpool] tower at this rate,” the source said.

Burke and McGee have been two of the most successful contestants on this year’s series of Strictly, both topping the leaderboard on several occasions and earning scores of 10 from the judges.

The reports come amid claims that Burke has been rowing with another contestant, radio host Gemma Atkinson over her rumoured romance with the X Factor winner’s partner Marquez.

Despite being pictured enjoying a cosy breakfast together and sharing several snaps of each other on their social media accounts, Atkinson and Marquez have consistently denied suggestions that they are anything more than friends.
