Good Morning Britain viewers unimpressed by Piers Morgan's awkward Sarah Palin interview

Some viewers even suggested that they'd rather listen to host Morgan than Palin

Good Morning Britain viewers were less than impressed by Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan’s interview with US politician Sarah Palin on Wednesday.

The cringe-inducing segment saw Reid, 49, take the former governor of Alaska, 55, to task over a series of allegedly false statements made during her political career.

The presenter, 49, asked the former governor of Alaska to verify some claims she had previously made, after Palin said she would be “interested to see any examples” of her past remarks that have since been fact-checked.

As Reid listed statistics which Palin previously cited, the politician hit back with “Keep going on Susanna, keep them going,” before claiming that people who disagree with her “don’t know the facts.”

In another bizarre twist, Palin went on to claim that President Trump is “not a typical politician with his finger to the wind” as he is instead “directing the wind.”

Viewers shared their thoughts on the interview on social media, with Twitter users describing it as “bonkers” and “delusional.”

Some joked that Palin’s interview resembled Tina Fey’s famous Saturday Night Live impression of the former vice-presidential candidate, while others suggested that they would rather listen to Morgan than his guest “for once.”

Morgan courted controversy earlier this week when he continued his criticism of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a new rant about the royal couple on Good Morning Britain.

He labelled the Sussexes “spoilt brats” and claimed that they are “holding [the Queen] to ransom about the entire way the monarchy works” after they revealed that they intend to step down as senior royals.

On Tuesday (January 14), Good Morning Britain guest Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu accused Morgan of having a “personal vendetta” against the Duchess of Sussex.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
