Sarah Harding’s estranged father is concerned for his daughter’s health on Celebrity Big Brother.

John Hardman – who was cut off by the Girls Aloud singer nearly two decades ago after he split from her mother Marie – said it was “cruel” to allow her to continue on the Channel 5 show.

“Sarah's being cruelly exploited for ratings purposes,” he told the Daily Mirror. “It would be in her best interests if Celebrity Big Brother arranged for her to leave – her health is in jeopardy.

“I can't bear to see my daughter break down and be forced to open her heart once more about her insecurities and vulnerabilities in front of cameras. It's cruel TV.”

He continued: “With the amazing career that she's already enjoyed, she doesn't actually need to be in the house at all.

“She's enjoyed huge success with Girls Aloud. It's so demeaning for her.”

Harding has had a tough time on the show, and has broken down in the Diary Room on several occasions after coming to blows with Paul Danan and Jemma Lucy.

On Wednesday night viewers watched as Harding burst into tears after clashing with Lucy, who told her: “F*** off you little b****, man.”

Crying to Big Brother, Harding said: “I’m so sick of it. There was no need for that. There was no need. I just feel because I have a fan base they feel threatened. It’s the story of my life.

“I am who I am and I am true to myself. But I am still getting in the neck and what for? Why am I doing it? Is it really worth breaking me down again? I can’t take much more of this. It's really not fair. I didn’t want to come here for this.”

It came a day after she broke down and told Big Brother she doesn’t “feel like I belong here anymore” after Lucy branded her an “attention seeker.”
