Oprah Winfrey is reportedly set to film a televised interview with Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland following the royal wedding.

The US TV icon attended the nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle on Saturday, alongside stars including George and Amal Clooney, the Beckhams and Idris Elba.

According to reports, Ms Ragland has been lined up to give Winfrey a tell-all interview while they are both still in London this week.

The bride’s mother is thought to have visited Winfrey at her £70 million mansion in Santa Barbara last month, where they discussed initial plans for the interview.

According to The Sun, Winfrey’s surprise invite to the wedding was, in part, to help her gain a better insight into the family.

“The plan is for Doria to film part of her interview while Oprah is in London. That’s why she was invited to the wedding,” said a source.

“There’s huge secrecy about what the interview will involve and when it will air. But both Doria and Meghan felt it was critical for Oprah to be at the wedding to really understand.”

While it’s not known what the interview will focus on, Ms Ragland is expected to highlight the racism her family has suffered since her daughter’s engagement to Prince Harry was announced.

Winfrey wore a custom-made pink Stella McCartney dress to the wedding, which she asked the British designer to make for her at the last minute.

"I would like to thank the Stella McCartney team for working all night long to get this dress finished because we had dress-gate - the wrong colour - but now we've got the right colour, I think we're going to do OK,” she said in a video .

“But no, thank you so much for all the detail and working all night to the whole Stella McCartney team.”
