Michelle Visage hilariously shuts down claims she ‘stormed off’ after being voted out on Strictly Come Dancing

The RuPaul's Drag Race judge also addressed rumours of a feud with her partner Giovanni Pernice

Michelle Visage has no time for reports claiming she “stormed off” after being eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.

In an interview with Lorraine Kelly, the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge, 51, addressed rumours that she left Blackpool ballroom immediately after she and dance partner Giovanni Pernice were booted out of the competition.

The couple, who had performed a routine to Madonna’s Vogue, left the show following a dance off against Saffron Barker and AJ Pritchard.

“Storm out of where?” she joked to Kelly. “They said I stormed out of actual Blackpool! Did I go into the ocean? Where did I go? Did I go to Liverpool, did I go to Manchester?”

Clearing up the rumours, she explained that she actually joined her fellow Strictly hopefuls at the after party until the early hours of the morning.

“I went to the [after] party until about 3.30 in the morning and I was dancing all night with Neil, Alex, Oti and Kelvin and Gio,” she said. “We were just having a really good time.”

She added: “The press has been at it with me. I think it’s because I’m American, I have a big mouth, I am a strong woman and people try and take you down… we’re in the limelight, and when you’re in the limelight, you are always at risk of that. It is what it is but none of it’s true.”

Visage also addressed accusations of a feud with Pernice, insisting they had “such an incredible relationship.”

She said that her stint on the show had been “so much richer” because of their partnership, adding: “I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.”

It was confirmed last week that Visage will not be taking part in the Strictly tour next year, and the TV star said she was “gutted” not to appear on the line-up.

“I wanted to do it,” she said. “I wasn’t asked to do it. I think there was a complication at the beginning with the dates.

“But at the end of the day it’s going to be a great tour, I am not going to be on it. I would love to. I’m gutted. But again it’s the way it goes.”

Lorraine airs weekdays from 8.30am on ITV. Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on November 23 at 7pm.
