Wednesday’s episode of Love Island sees two very eligible bachelors touch down in the villa, which has the potential to cause a stir among the other islanders.

The Standard Online chatted to the boys ahead of their arrival to find out more.

If you’ve been keeping up with all the dating drama, you’ll be well aware that it’s already kicking off in the house.

Montana Brown has been left at a bit of loose end after she lost her partner to glamour model Jess Shears, leaving her at risk of elimination.

The new arrivals mean things could be looking up for the 21-year-old, but will either of them take her fancy?

Time to get acquainted, here’s everything you’ll need to know about the new boys.

Jonny Mitchell

New boy on the block: Jonny from Essex says he's not looking for reality TV stardom
ITV

Age: 26
Occupation: Business Director
From: Essex
Says: "Some people might say I’m not the type to settle down"

Surprisingly for an Essex boy Jonny has never appeared on TOWIE despite knowing a few members of the cast.

And he won’t be coupling up with any girls from his hometown in the house, (bad luck Chloe) as he says they’re too mouthy. Other turn-offs for the businessman include girls “who act stupid because they think it’s endearing” and ladies who are too “fake”.

The late arrival is “sceptical” about finding love in the villa, but says he’s got a pretty “good radar” when it comes to game plans.

But the contestant could add fuel to accusations that Love Island is fake, as he revealed to Standard Online that he was contacted by casting people to appear on the show.

“I was scouted out. I was approached by one of the casting people back in January on social media. I was dating someone and that went pear-shaped so we go back in touch.”

When it comes to making his mark on the villa Mitchell says he won’t be engaging in too much macho posturing, explaining: “I’m not the alpha male type. I can’t be bothered with that struggle for power crap”.

Instead he describes himself as an “endearing character”, who hopes to bring some “comic relief” to the house.

The 26-year-old also has quite the romantic history - he was previously engaged and once flew a girl out to Bali for a date.

But when asked what he’d do if his fiancée turned up on the show, he seemed unfazed saying: “I wouldn’t be too bothered.”

When it comes to under the cover action, Jonny isn’t shy explaining: “I’ll go all the way”, adding “Every guy in there would 100 per cent have sex immediately on the first night.”

But even if his antics on this year’s show find him fame, Jonny’s ruling out a career in reality TV. And as for becoming an Instagram influencer, he says that’s far too embarrassing.

“Promoting protein…. I think I’ll steer well clear of that, I find it very cringe.”

Chris Hughes

New talent: Chris Hughes is looking for love in the villa
ITV

Age: 22
Occupation: Golf Clothing Ambassador
From: Gloucestershire
Says: “Every relationship I’ve been in, I’ve been the heartbreaker”

Self-described country boy Chris told Standard Online he’s looking to meet a girl who’ll broaden his horizons, as living in the Cotswolds doesn’t give him much chance to meet new people.

The 22-year-old describes his dream lady as someone with “a nice bum, who’s gonna make me laugh.”

And when it comes to drama in the house, Chris won’t be afraid to “fight his corner” if someone tries to cause him trouble.

The 22-year-old certainly isn’t short on confidence, scoring himself 9 ¾ when it comes to attractiveness.

He says his tendency to move too fast could be what’s standing in the way of that perfect ten, explaining “My friends would say I fall in love straightaway […] if I like a girl in the villa, it could get serious quickly.”

As for getting close to the girls, like Jonny, Chris isn’t shy, and says he’s up for having sex on screen. “I would do it. You’re going to forget you’re on TV. The sex takes over.” adding “I’ll keep it legal. Whatever happens, happens.”

Love Island airs tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
