Kate Garraway’s family joined Good Morning Britain to discuss what it was like watching the TV presenter in the Jungle.

On Friday morning, her two children and husband made an appearance on her show, claiming that she was having the time of her life on the ITV reality show.

Her husband Derek Draper said he was proud of his wife and that they prepared her for the hardships of the show by making her hold slugs for a period of time.

Their 13-year-old daughter Darcey added: “We were like forcing her to hold it so she would get used to it, so funny.”

Along with her young brother William, Darcey said their household was left embarrassed when their mum feared critters were trying to crawl up her 'noo-noo' on Monday's episode.

On the cringe moment, Darcey admitted: “When she was like, ‘Oh it’s going up my noo noo!’ So embarrassing.”

Later, Darcey sweetly added: “She's so genuine and she will like keep trying and she won't put herself first, she's like so selfless she'll just do everything for everyone else before she thinks of herself.”

Of whether Kate could win, Darcey said: “She’s so genuine and she will like keep trying and she won’t put herself first, she’s like so selfless she’ll just do everything for everyone else before she thinks of herself.”

Derek joked that he is yet to hear Kate talk about missing him after she cried over her children on Thursday’s episode.

He laughed: “I never get a mention. ‘I miss the kids’, what about me? The only bit where I felt really upset for her was something people might not have noticed, when there was good news about food delivered and she turned to hug someone and everyone was already hugging each other and I wanted to dive through the television and give her a massive hug.

“It is hard watching her struggle with things but equally I know how much she likes a challenge so in a way I know deep down she’s having the time of her life.”

During Thursday’s episode, Jacqueline Jossa and Kate chatted by the creek whilst enjoying the sunshine and became emotional when talking about missing their children.

Kate got emotional when she said she had a moment when she couldn’t remember the smell of her children’s hair.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6:30 AM
