Jeremy Kyle took on one of his toughest guests yet after being confronted by the troubled characters from Cold Feet.

Adam Williams (James Nesbitt), Jenny Gifford (Fay Ripley) and Karen and David Marsden (Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst) sought help from the relationship expert after Andy and Karen’s relationship was exposed in a dream sequence.

In teaser images ahead of tonight’s finale, Adam can be seen squaring up to Kyle as the show descends into chaos, with Kyle’s security team being called in to calm down the ruckus.

Jenny is held back by a burly guard after lunging at Kyle who can be seen throwing his hands in the air in a bid to control the situation.

A stint on the Jeremy Kyle Show seems necessary for the troubled group after Adam and Karen embarked on an affair which could irreparably shatter their friendships.

Jenny’s husband Pete, played by John Thomson, is onto the duo and daydreams the Jeremy Kyle showdown before confronting Adam about their relationship in tonight's episode.

Fans were left divided after watching Adam and Karen kiss last week, having been firm friends since the series kicked off in 1997, with Karen helping the former ladies man in the wake of his wife Rachel's death.

One viewer tweeted: "Been thinking about #ColdFeet last night. Rachel would be so unhappy. Not sure how I would feel if I died and my husband copped off with my mate."

Another wrote: "Didn't want them together it's wrong on so many levels.. I know it's a show but. .Rachel was her best mate and David is Adam mate. #ColdFeet."

But a third posted: "ADAM AND KAREN" That was so cute! #ColdFeet."

The current series saw Jenny dealing with a cancer scare after a routine check sees the doctor find a lump on her breast.

Cold Feet is on ITV, tonight at 9pm
