Massive congratulations to our very deserving new X Factor winner, Louisa Johnson!

I can't believe at just 17 she's already built up such a strong voice and confidence to perform in front of millions. She has, without question, been the most consistent this year!

I know she's said it has always been her dream to win the X Factor since she was a child but this really is just the beginning for her.

I hope she goes on to have a successful singing career and I can't wait to see her come back on the X Factor stage next year, hopefully with a massive hit already under her belt.

Louisa Johnson - The X Factor Winner 2015

1/10

The winner's single 'Forever Young' definitely suited her better than Reggie 'n' Bollie. It's a shame the boys couldn't do something more their style but it's just another reminder that the X Factor is a singing competition.

They might've brought tons of fun and was always so entertaining to watch, but this competition was made for singers like Louisa. I'm sure Reggie 'n' Bollie will go on to do sell-out shows and probably release a fun single in the summer.

The show really is an amazing platform for anyone who is passionate about making music and performing. Watching (and writing about) the X Factor for the first time this year as someone who has gone through the live shows just brought back so many memories.

I can't believe that this time last year, I was on that stage with Ben Haenow, Jack Walton and Andrea Faustini, mentored by Mel B, who continues to be a massive support.

Off the back of the show, I've written and released my first EP 'I Want You' independently then did a UK tour, and I've also been lucky enough to have gotten some TV work too.

I will forever be grateful to the X Factor and those who continue to support me after the show. I'm now working on my second EP which is out early next year and I'm going to tour it as well.

Best of luck to all on the 12th series of X Factor! Hats off to Olly and Caroline for an amazing job too this series, but I wouldn’t say no to presenting if Simon wants to shake things up again.

And thanks to you for reading my blog posts on the Evening Standard - see you in 2016!
