Celebrity Big Brother’s Amanda Barrie has defended Ann Widdecombe in a spat with Shane Jenek over LGBT rights.

The 82-year-old Coronation Street actress slammed Jenek, better known by stage name Courtney Act, over his feud with Widdecombe about their differing views on the subject.

Barrie said: “I get along with her and I'm in a civil partnership. You think you're a platform for LGBT rights.

“This is all mirror talk. You have your opinions and when you meet other people with strong opinions, you have a mirror reaction.”

Australian drag queen Jenek shot back: “The difference is I'm not dictating. In 23 years she has voted against every pro-LGBT piece of legislation, which is your rights as a human being!”

However, Barrie was quick to defend the former Tory MP, emphasising that her civil partnership makes her feel no differently towards Widdecombe.

She said: “It’s not my rights. It doesn't affect me at all. I'm married!”

"No Amanda, you have those rights not because of people like Ann but because of the people who stood up against Ann,” Jenek quipped.

"I'm not into baby, I like people for what they are," Barrie said.

"I've been like this since I was born and when we got married we didn't ask for anybody's acceptance and every single person has taken it for who we are. And it's not all about gay rights," she added.

Jenek, 36, fought back: "I agree with that, I think a woman should have the right to say what happens to her body but Ann doesn't think that a woman does - she doesn't agree with abortion."

Bad Girls star Barrie then accused Jenek of intentionally pulling off his skirt upon his entry into the house as Courtney Act.

Barrie concluded the spat, declaring that she was “going to bed now, I can’t take too much bull****.”
