Iain Lee was reduced to tears after he came face-to-face with one of his biggest fears on a Dingo Dollar Challenge with Stanley Johnson on I’m A Celebrity.

The camp mates were chosen to take on Aerial View, which required Lee to get up on a high bridge swaying 100 feet over a deep Jungle ravine and move an aerial into different positions in order to try and get channels on the TV set for Johnson.

Each channel would generate a number and that number would be added, subtracted, multiplied or divided with the next number until they got all the channel numbers and could work out the total number needed to release the Dingo Dollars.

Nervous for Lee as he got himself into the safety gear, Johnson said: “Iain has got a terrible fear of heights and he came here to try and conquer that fear.

“No-one knows how real people’s fear is and who are we to tell a chap his fear is not real enough to take part in this escapade.”

Determined to try his best, Lee took two steps out, shouting: “Heights genuinely terrify me so this isn’t fun. I am shaking.”

He then took another few steps out before declaring he couldn’t continue.

He said: “Guys I’m really sorry I can’t do it, it’s off. Sorry Stanley.” He walked away from the challenge area again upset.

Breaking down in tears he said: “I got the fear and I just couldn’t do it.”

Johnson tried to comfort him, saying: “You tried it, there are some things you cannot conquer, why should you, you weren’t born to be a TV repairman on top of a high stack. Remember these treats are nice to have but we’re going to have dinner.”

Thankfully his fellow camp mates were understanding, with Kezia Dugdale telling the Bush Telegraph: “Stanley was an absolute gentleman about the way he spoke about the challenge and how hard Iain had tried to complete it.

“Stanley’s wise enough to know there’s a bunch of very macho boys in that camp who like nothing better than lording it over people by saying how much better they would have done.”

But Amir Khan was less sympathetic, saying: “I just think Iain should have given it a go because, I know he’s scared of heights but I’m scared of spiders and snakes and I’ve had to deal with that but he still should have done it, I don’t know why he didn’t do it.”

Elsewhere in camp Georgia Toffolo was elected the new President with Dennis Wise appointed as her deputy.

Wise and Jamie Lomas were chosen by their camp mates to take on the Tortuous Tanks Bushtucker Trial and managed to secure six meals out of a possible 10 for camp.

I’m A Celebrity is on ITV, tomorrow at 9pm.
