What happened on Love Island last night? Georgia seems to think the world has ended as Wes proves he doesn’t know the meaning of irony

It's been non-stop drama since that Casa Amor sojourn

After what turned out to be one of the most dramatic Love Island re-couplings ever, Georgia was on the war path after finding out Josh hadn’t remained loyal.

So when Josh did the right thing and tried to explain himself, unsurprisingly she rebuffed him and went straight to the other girls for comfort.

Dani told her: “You’re strong, you’ve done bloody well. Out of all of this you have been loyal. You could have had Jordan and you didn’t want him because you’re a good person. Josh on the other hand has been a div.”

While there were certainly ways he could have handled it better, Josh was always going to end up having to walk back into the villa with Kaz by his side.

They undoubtedly have a connection, and for him to refuse to re-couple with her just so he could go and explain to Georgia how he was feeling would have meant the end of his relationship with them both.

After realising Megan had ditched him for Alex M, Wes resigned himself to settling back into single life.

But things were easier said than done, especially when he could hear the new couple getting flirty under the covers.

While confiding in Georgia the morning after, Wes said: “Hearing kissing. And it was coming from Meg’s side of the room. I looked over. Even just hearing them laughing… I was upset and there was a moment when I was in bed looking at the ceiling and I could hear kissing and I was like ‘you are taking the micky.’”

Wait a minute, Wes, weren't you the one that paraded Megan through the bedroom hours after unceremoniously dumping Laura?

“It’s a massive kick in the teeth,” added a confused Wes, clearly unable to see the irony in it all. “Obviously I’m hurt by it. I’m just trying to put on a brave face.”

It’s almost as if Wes doesn’t mind stepping all over people, as long as they don’t do the same to him. How surprising.

He admitted in the beach hut: “I’ve not felt a connection like that in a long, long time - if ever - that I have with Kaz.”

When Georgia calmed down enough to sit with Josh and talk it out, things didn’t go as well as he probably had hoped.

All over: Wes seems to think he might get Megan back

Pouring out her heart, she told him: “I had a connection with someone else in here, Josh. I think we both had our little tests. I passed mine because I’m a loyal girl. Yes, I’m a flirt but I know the boundaries.

“You have no idea how much you’ve hurt me. I have never laid my cards out on the table to a guy ever and that was such a big step for me and I did that… I cannot believe what is going on.”

It’s here that Georgia’s age has really begun to show. Yes, she had a connection with Josh. But their relationship had barely developed past the flirting stage, and it had only been a matter of about a week at best. Acting like Josh has stolen her first born child isn’t the way to go about it.

In reality, when the next batch of guys come in Georgia will stumble upon someone she likes and be over the whole Josh situation by the end of the week.

What a mug: Wes is now single

After days of emotions riding high, Dani and Jack are finally back together and it seems that love really does make the heart grow fonder.

While snuggling up before bed, Jack decided to get his feelings off of his chest once and for all, and honestly we’re expecting a surge in Tinder downloads as a result.

He gushed: “I do actually love you. I do love you. Do you love me as well?”

“Of course I love you,” she replied.

Our faith in relationships has been restored. If these two can find love on an ITV reality show, then surely we can find it three drinks down at our local.

But how would Dani deal with having Ellie in the villa? Especially after that iconic outburst during re-coupling.

Producers didn’t want to wait, and sent them both on an awkward date to get to know each other better and hash out their differences.

Imagine your current partner going on a one-on-one date with your ex to find out every awful detail about you.

Detailing their history, Ellie explained: “We were on and off since 2016. I didn’t know he was coming on here.

"He could have gone about things a little bit differently with me but he did apologise for that… I wouldn’t go back there. He didn’t make me that happy. I was a bit down about it in that situation… He wasn’t the best.”

After returning to the villa, Dani shared her concerns with Jack after she’d learned about his behaviour in the past.

“I didn’t realise you two were that intense. She said to me that you’ve been on and off for two years. This girl is sitting there telling me all this stuff about you. It’s not nice to hear. It made me worry a bit.”

But let's be honest here. Practically none of us would ever be able to have a relationship again if the prerequisite for dating was that your ex could tell your potential partner everything they loathed about being with you.

Imagine being a month into the honeymoon period only for your partner to find out that you leave the toilet seat up and you have a tendency to hum along to Direct Line adverts. Mortifying. But the best but came when Ellie revealed that Jack had had a poster of Dani’s dad above his bed for years.

Clearly embarrassed by the revelation, a now bright red Jack panicked that his potential new father in law might think he’s a total stalker. Rather a stalker than a womaniser though, hun, look at the bright side. Honestly, we’re hoping for a Through The Keyhole special episode where we get to see Jack’s living room filled with hundreds of throw cushions with Danny’s face on.
