Game of Thrones fans spot ANOTHER error as Jaime Lannister's hand 'grows back' in episode five

Game of Thrones fans noticed another editing fail in the fifth episode of the show’s final season, as Jaime Lannister’s severed hand appeared to miraculously “grow back.”

Jaime, who is played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, famously lost his “sword hand” in the third season of the fantasy drama, and later had the missing appendage replaced with a gold prosthesis in the following series.

However, in a shot released ahead of this show’s most recent instalment, the missing right hand appeared to make an unexpected comeback as Jaime embraced his twin sister Cersei (Lena Headey).

Though the mistake was eventually edited out from the episode, Twitter users were quick to call out the show’s bosses for letting the error slip through the net.

“Oops, looks like the Starbucks mishap was only the top of the iceberg,” one critical fan wrote. “Jaime’s hand magically healed in Episode 5. As if we needed any more proof D&D simply stopped caring about GoT a log [sic] time ago #gameofthrones.”

“Last week, we had the #starbuckscup, this week we got hand regeneration,” another tweet read. “#GameOfThrones really made us all wait 2 years for subpar writing and this.”

“Congrats to Jaime for growing his hand back last night as well,” a third Twitter user joked, while another suggested that the character’s storyline was “so absurd his hand even grew back.”

The mix-up comes one week after a rogue coffee cup appeared in front of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) during a banqueting scene set in Winterfell’s Great Hall.

The error was later removed from the episode on streaming platforms, as executive producer Bernie Caulfield apologised for the mistake and defended the show’s production values, telling fans: “If that’s the worst thing [viewers] are finding, then we’re in good shape.”

Viewers were also left confused after the geography of King’s Landing seemed to change completely during the same episode, with the once verdant region becoming an arid, desert-like wasteland with no greenery in sight.

Game of Thrones continues on Sky Atlantic on Mondays at 2am and 9pm and is also available to stream on demand on NOW TV.
