If the heats round of Celebrity MasterChef weren’t already tough enough, things are about to ramp up a notch as the semi-finals begin.

Nine celebs have battled their way into the next stage of the competition, with Jimmy Osmond, Audley Harrison and Cherry Healey all making it through the fourth heat in a deviation from the usual format.

They’ve joined Neil Back, Alexis Conran, Tommy Cannon, Reverend Richard Coles, Louise Minchin, and Sid Owen in the next round of the show.

But if the contestants were pleased about making it through, that probably won’t last long when they see the tasks they’ve been set.

The first part of the two-episode semi-finals will include two major tests of their skills.

The semi-finalists will be venturing into the great outdoors, battling the cold weather to serve up a selection of four dishes for 70 guests in a marquee kitchen. Can they master the quality as well as the quantity when they’re not working in a normal environment?

The second half of the episode is sending the contestants back to the MasterChef studio where they’ll be taking on another Invention Test.

This time the celebrities will be given 90 minutes to create a dish that showcases a chosen favourite ingredient – from haggis and mackerel, to scallops and chicken breast.

There will be some disappointed contestants by the end of the night – only six of the remaining nine will be entering the second half of the semi-finals. Tune in to see who’ll make it.
