Ann Widdecombe has said that calling out sexual assault is "destroying men" during a discussion on Celebrity Big Brother.

In scenes to be aired in Friday’s show, conversation around the breakfast table turned to the topic of women speaking out against harassment.

Journalist Rachel Johnson kicked off the discussion by saying: “I call it the reckoning, women all over the world trying to call out the inequality in their industry or the sexual abuse and assault in their industry.”

Widdecombe immediately hit back: “I call it the wimpery.”

Ru Paul's Drag Race star Shane Jenek pressed her on the comment, saying: “Come on Ann, you have to acknowledge that men have done some horrible things to women.

But the former MP wasn’t having any of it, arguing: “And women have done some horrible things to men. But the idea… there’s now such a lot of wimpery and snowflakery.”

Jenek responded: “Just because now people are hearing about it everybody’s like ‘oh you’re all snowflakes rather than just being sexually abused in the quiet’”.

“That’s not what the past couple of years have been about in this country,” retorted Widdecombe.

“It’s been about calling out sexual harassment,” Jenek insisted.

But Widdecombe disagreed, saying: “It’s been about destroying men,”

Elsewhere in the programme, Jenek and his close friend in the house Andrew Brady enjoyed a bath together, after Brady admitted to Big Brother that he fancies Jenek’s drag alter ago Courtney Act.
