Celebrity Big Brother star Ryan Thomas broke down in tears in the Diary Room hours after Roxanne Pallett quit the show amid claims the actor had “punched” her.

The sobbing ex-Coronation Street actor told Big Brother he was “broken” in the aftermath of the row.

The 34-year-old said through tears: “I've done nothing, I don't understand how she can do this. I don't understand it.

“I've got to get this show back on the road now and I have to make amends, I don't feel like I'm the one making amends but I'll be the bigger person.”

Thomas vowed not to quit the show promising to create a “happy household” and added: “I'm not going to lie, it's broken me a little, and if I've offended someone, or done something wrong, I am so sorry. But I will not walk away from this, I'm not a quitter, I'm genuinely not.”

The emotional scenes came as Emmerdale actress Pallett walked out after claiming Thomas had “punched” her in the ribs during a playfight.

The 35-year-old broke down in tears in the Diary Room and accused Thomas of launching an “unprovoked” attack on her during Thursday's show and “punching her like a boxer would”.

Last night showed the prelude to her dramatic exit as she told Big Brother she would “rather work in a corner shop” than stay on the show before exiting without saying goodbye to fellow housemates.

Thomas’ family shared heartwarming messages of support for the star on social media.

His brother Scott posted an adorable video of the actor’s daughter with ex-girlfriend and former Coronation Street co-star Tina O’Brian on Instagram.

Nine-year-old Scarlett tells the camera: “Hi daddy, I love you and I miss you and I think you’re doing very well. I’m so proud of you and I think you should win.”

Scott shared a second post following Saturday’s emotional episode that read: “That was heartbreaking to watch tonight but I’m so glad the nation is getting to see my big brother for the special human being he is. Handled the situation like a true champion. I just hope he can get back to being him now and shine like the star he is! Love you bro."
