A number of viewers have officially complained to Ofcom following Monday night’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

Many fans weren’t prepared for a scene in which Marnie Simpson and Lewis Bloor stepped out of the shower fully nude, which producers failed to censor.

Following the episode, 54 people have complained to the television regulatory body, an Ofcom spokesperson has confirmed.

A statement read: “We have received 54 complaints about Celebrity Big Brother from last night. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”

While 34 of these complaints related directly to the nude shower scene, 10 were about Stephen Bear’s ‘bullying’ and ‘sexual advances’.

Further complaints were made about ‘offensive behaviour’, ‘explicit sexual discussion’ and ‘use of the word psychopath’.

Some viewers seemed rather shocked by the nudity, expressing their views on Twitter during the show.

“Did we need to see Marnie and Lewis naked? No #CBB,” one person tweeted the show to say.

Another person wrote: “How are they allowed to show them completely naked on #cbb? really didn't want to see marnie and lewis.”

This year’s series of Big Brother, which finished just days before the celebrity edition started, also sparked a number of complaints to Ofcom.

Ofcom received 634 complaints after Marco Pierre White Jr and Laura Carter were filmed getting intimate in bed together back in June.

The scenes were described as ‘pornographic’ by some viewers who called for the pair to be axed from the reality TV show.
