Comedian Dapper Laughs came close to tears as he proposed to his girlfriend live on air after being evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The controversial comic, real name Daniel O’Reilly, got down on one knee as he was reunited with girlfriend Shelley Rae.

He said: “Everyday I’ve regretted not asking you. Will you marry me?”

Host Emma Willis was screaming as he presented Rae with a makeshift ring designed by Ginuwine.

Rae broke down in tears, before O’Reilly joked: “Is the ring alright you won’t need another one will you?”

O’Reilly was given the boot along with Andrew Brady and Johnny Mitchell on Friday night’s show.

Speaking about his time on the show he said: “I don’t want the sympathy card but it’s been a tough year. I’m either having a right laugh or I’m crying.

“I hope I’ve shown enough of myself in there to get back on my platform and use it to do better things.”

The triple eviction was also overshadowed by an intruder who found their way into the garden.

Jess Impiazzi spotted the unwelcome guest as O’Reilly lost his place on the show.

Wayne Sleep said: “Big Brother there are people in the house. There is someone in the garden.”

The shutters were quickly drawn at the windows as the housemates said their goodbyes to O’Reilly.

Willis later reassured viewers, saying: “People watching may have seen someone get into the garden. Everyone is fine. They didn’t get into the house. Everything is under control.”

The show’s triple eviction surprise was also ruined after Brady revealed the housemates had heard Willis announce the news to the live audience.

He said: “I knew. I heard when I was in there.”

Willis replied: “We need to work on sound proofing.”

Speaking in his exit interview Brady apologised for branding Anne Widdecombe a “c***,” saying: “That was out of order. I’ll hold my hands up. I [wish I’d risen above it].”

Showering praise on fellow housemate Shane Jenek who is also known as Courtney Act, he said: “When I first met Courtney I thought ‘wow this girl was fit’. Shane is an unbelievable person. He has the biggest heart and I have so much admiration for him.”

Former Love Island star Mitchell shut down claims that he had “played it safe,” telling Willis: “You could say anyone was playing it safe. Sometimes I wouldn’t join in with things in the communal environment because it might p*** them off.

“It’s respect as well. There are a lot of people in the house. I felt my way through it.”

Celebrity Big Brother is on Channel 5, Saturday at 9pm
