Black Mirror and Gilmore Girls get Netflix release dates

Black Mirror and Gilmore Girls have both been given release dates on Netflix.

The third season of Charlie Brooker’s award-winning anthology drama, which has moved over to the streaming site from Channel 4, will air on October 21.

While plot details are still sparse for the dark, one-off tales of techno-paranoia in the modern age, the series will comprise of six episodes.

The first episode, San Junipero ,features Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis and is directed by Owen Harris.

Episode two, Shut Up and Dance features Jerome Flynn and Alex Lawtherans is helmed by James Watkins.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve and James Norton makes up the impressive cast of episode three, directed by Joe Wright, while episode four features Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby and Madeline Brewer and is directed by The Fall's Jakob Verbruggen.

Hated in the Nation features Kelly MacDonald in an episode directed by James Hawes and Wyatt Russell and Hannah John-Kamen star in Playtest, directed by Dan Trachtenberg.

Speaking recently about how public events have shaped the show, Brooker said:

“This year is free publicity for our show.

“People are always coming up to me and saying ‘That’s a bit Black Mirror’,’ [with] the situation we’re finding ourselves in across the globe.

“I don’t think there’s anything where we thought we should’ve gone further.”

Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life will premiere globally on Netflix on November 25, featuring four 90-minute chapters, each spanning one of the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

The popular US series, which originally ran from 2000-07 sees cast members Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reunited in the mother and daughter comedy drama.
