When is The Baby-Sitters Club released on Netflix?

The series will be available on Netflix on Friday, July 3, 2020.

Who is in the cast of The Baby-Sitters Club?

The young and fresh-faced cast include: Sophie Grace (Kristy Thomas), Malia Baker (Mary Ann Spier), Momona Tamada (Claudia Kishi), Shay Rudolph (Stacey McGill), and Xochitl Gomez (Dawn Schafer).

You might recognise Momona from Netflix's other popular book adaptation, To All the Boys I've Loved Before: PS I Still Love You, where she played a young Lara Jean.

In addition to our central Baby-Sitters Club, Clueless star Alicia Silverstone will star as Elizabeth Thomas, the mother of club president Kristy.

What will The Baby-Sitters Club be about?

Fans of the original books will be pleased to hear the new 10 episode series hasn’t strayed too far from its source material, and will still centre around the main group of girls as they set up their club.

“The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs,” Melissa Cobb, vice president of Kids & Family at Netflix, said in a statement.

And Silverstone has said that we can expect the same, strong-willed nature we came to know and love Kristy for in the original series.

"She's really strong and really powerful and really smart and kind. She's a wonderful character, Kristy," Silverstone told Good Housekeeping. "And she's just so good at taking responsibility and owning up, and she's a control freak. And she's learning she can't be in control all the time, which is a hard thing to learn for all of us."
