Amy Poehler has gathered her famous friends to star in her upcoming directorial debut on Netflix.

Titled Wine Country, the movie will see Poehler in a starring role alongside long-term collaborator Tina Fey, as well as Saturday Night Live favourites Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch and Paula Pell.

Fellow SNL alumni Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski are on board as writers.

Netflix teased the film with a post on its page, which saw Poehler and friends singing along to Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks song Whenever I Call You Friend.

The clip closes with the words: ‘Your new favourite movie. Coming Soon.”

Wine Country will focus on a group of friends who take a trip to Californian wine-making region Napa Valley to celebrate a 50th birthday.
