The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to support a gala performance of West End show Bat Out Of Hell — The Musical in aid of the Invictus Games Foundation.

The hit production — based on the rock album of the same name by Meat Loaf — has had a partnership with the sporting event, created by Prince Harry to help injured and sick servicemen and women, since April.

The gala will take place on December 6 at the Dominion Theatre.

A statement from the show’s producers said: “We greatly admire everything the Invictus Games Foundation does and so are delighted to be able to support them in this way. It’s going to be a spine-tingling night.”

Dominic Reid, chief executive of the foundation, said: “The gala is a great example of how the producers of the show are supporting the Invictus Games’ cause and will be a unique opportunity for us to acknowledge the beneficiaries of the foundation and bring together the many military charities that we work with. It will be a spectacular evening.”

Two Invictus athletes, Michelle Partington and Michelle Turner, recently met the cast of the show.

The next Invictus Games will be held this month in Sydney.
