Critic's choice: dance

10 April 2012

If you're looking for a seasonal theatre treat, then make your way along to Will Tuckett's The Wind in the Willows, says Sarah Frater.

Will Tuckett's Wind in the Willows
Linbury Studio, WC2

This week is the last chance to see this seasonal theatre treat. Aimed at both tots and adults, Will Tuckett's The Wind in the Willows tracks Kenneth Grahame's classic tale of Ratty, Mole, Toad and their Riverside pals. It's part childhood adventure, part elegy for lost friends, something that Tuckett captures in song, poetry, music and dance, sending you home believing in loyalty and courage - and the highest of jinks. The excellent sets and costumes are by The Quay Brothers and Nicky Gillibrand, and the music by Martin Ward uses George Butterworth's sweet melody The Loveliest of Trees. A mini modern classic.
(020 7304 4000). Tonight 7pm. Until Sat 13 Jan.
