Panic! at the Disco offered a bombardment of treats to fans this week as the one-man band released a new track and accompanying music video. But this was not all: Panic! also announced a world tour, as well as an album release date. Yes, it was a lot to take in.

The album Viva Las Vengeance – the band’s seventh studio album – is set to drop on August 19 and the world tour will begin in Austin, Texas in September. Panic! will be coming to London on March 6.

“This is the tale about growing up in Las Vegas. It’s about love, fame, burnout and everything that happens in between,” said Panic! at the Disco in an Instagram post about the album, which also shared news of the album’s release date and tour.

The post also let fans know that Marina (previously Marina and the Diamonds), American pop musician Jake Wesley Rogers, American power pop band Beach Bunny and indie rock group Little Image will be joining Urie for certain dates of the tour.

“This is the new era, and the journey starts now,” said the post.

The official music video to Viva Las Vengeance, the first track on the album, was released on June 1 and has been trending on YouTube ever since: it is currently number 8 for trending music worldwide.

The video shows Urie on stage as part of a vintage-looking band. With flashing lights and animation, the performance gets more dramatic towards the culmination of the 4-minute clip. The music video was directed by Brendan Walter (who has worked with artists such as Sia, Weezer, Lorde, Fall Out Boy).

Then, as part of Panic! at the Disco’s barrage of exciting news this week, the band shared a tracklist and what could be the album cover on its Instagram: Viva Las Vengeance will be 12 tracks long, and song names include “Middle of a break up”, the provocative “Local God” and the intriguing “Star Spangled Banner”.

“Today’s menu... is the Viva Las Vengeance tracklist. Bon appétit,” said the Instagram post, and fans were certainly pleased by the news, even if there are still more than two months wait until they can hear the album in full.

“Obsessed” commented one fan. “Dang gotta wait till august my guy?” commented another.

“Thank you for the seratonin,” said another. “Love this,” wrote another.

This will be the 11th tour made by Panic! at the Disco since 2005, but only the second since 2017 when band member Dallon Weekes announced his departure from the band. Since then, Panic! at the Disco has been the solo project of American musician Brendon Urie.

Panic!’s last tour was the Pray for the Wicked Tour 2018–2019, which accompanied Urie’s 2018’s Pray for the Wicked album. The record went to number one on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and the US Billboard 200 and also went Platinum in the US.

Opening in Austin, Texas on September 8, British fans can look forward to seeing Panic! in March next year. There are four UK dates: Glasgow (March 3), Birmingham (March 4), London (March 6)and the entire tour is closing in Manchester (March 10).
