Kanye West continues to tease the follow-up to 2013’s Yeezus album. The latest track from his next long-player is Facts, a minimal, tense effort that appeared on Soundcloud over the holidays.

Californian R&B singer Anderson .Paak, superfluous full stop and all, is about to capitalise on his multiple guest appearances on Dr Dre’s Compton album last year. His second solo album, including the woozy piano soul of the single Room in Here, is out next week.

Ryan Culwell’s gritty Americana has led to support slots with Patty Griffin and an apearance on a Bruce Springsteen tribute album. His album Flatlands has been out in the US for a while but arrives here this week, accompanied by the dark lead track, Red River.

It’s time to start paying attention to Madrid’s garage rock scene, with the ragged, shouty sound of all-girl band Hinds looking like it will make an international breakthrough this year. Their debut album, Leave Me Alone, is out today, and there are multiple songs already on YouTube.

Surprisingly young when they started out, The Coral are now veterans with an eighth album on the way. Their new song, Chasing the Tail of a Dream, is a free download from their website and sits well amid the current psych-rock revival.
