Long-running Texan indie rock band Spoon have been charting higher than ever with their past couple of albums, and look set to keep up that run with the March release of their ninth album, Hot Thoughts. The heavily percussive title track is streaming now.

Over a decade since her last album, Missy Elliott is creeping back into the limelight with a sparse, sinister new single. I’m Better features Lamb and has an underwater video on YouTube now.

New London duo Ten Fé release an impressive debut album, Hit the Light, today. The latest single, Overflow, with its heavy bass groove, vintage synths and moody baritone vocals, offers a good idea of what they’re about.

Young Dutchman Martin Garrix, the number one DJ of the moment according to DJ magazine, has teamed up with breakthrough pop act Dua Lipa for a new single, Scared to Be Lonely. It’s similar to recent hits by dance acts such as Kygo and The Chainsmokers, in that it’s a bit slow for dancing.

Over four years since Ásgeir became the toast of Iceland with his gorgeous debut album, he’s returning with an edgier electronic element to his sound on a new song, Unbound. Expect a second album to appear soon enough.

Baltimore indie-electronic band Future Islands are back to capitalise on the breakthrough they made with their last album, Singles, in 2014. A propulsive new song, Ran, is now online, with their fifth album to follow in April.

The second song from the second London Grammar album has arrived online, with a video of the night sky that suits its slow-moving, nocturnal feel. Big Picture was produced by Coldplay collaborator Jon Hopkins and builds to a lovely groove without ever quite bursting into life.

Having announced a new stadium tour last autumn, Depeche Mode are finally ready to reveal the first track from their next album, Spirit. Where’s the Revolution is a timely call to arms from the veteran band that arrives in download stores today.
