Drake has surprised fans by dropping some serious hints around a new collaboration with R&B superstar SZA, ahead of his upcoming album For All The Dogs. Oh, and it could land as early as tomorrow.

The Canadian rapper is due to release the forthcoming project, which follows last year’s album Honestly, Nevermind, on September 22.

Ahead of the record’s release, Drake has now begun teasing what seems to be a single with SZA. The rapper shared an image of actor Halle Berry being slimed at Nickelodeon’s annual Kids Choice Awards back in 2012. Styled like an CD cover, the image features a “Parental Advisory” logo in the corner, suggesting the picture could well be artwork for a future release.

He tagged also SZA in the Instagram post, but simply captioned the image with straight face emoji, followed by a green heart, leading fans to speculate that it could well point to a new single.

SZA also posted the same artwork on her Instagram profile, choosing to play it equally coy with emojis that gave nothing else away. The artwork was also posted by rapper and producer DJ Khaled, who tagged the pair in his caption, suggesting he may be involved.

While a date for the potential collab is not yet known, Drake announced he would be releasing another track from his new album this week, during show at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on September 11. Fingers crossed it’s the mystery SZA link-up.

“I know y’all excited to hear the album, I know it’s like two weeks out, but I’ma drop a song for y’all this week just to let you know where we at,” he said on the It’s All A Blur tour.

Drake has been teasing fans throughout his tour dates about the new project – in July, he confirmed Nicki Minaj would make an appearance on the album. In August, he also revealed Bad Bunny as another guest feature.

While Drake prepares for his eighth studio album rollout, SZA has already had a busy year. The R&B hitmaker is on a short break from her SOS world tour, which included two stops at London’s O2 Arena, following the release of her critically acclaimed SOS album, which dropped late last year.

She scored her first US number one with her track Kill Bill earlier in the year, which dominated music charts globally following the album release, and reached number two in the UK. She has since followed up its success with her latest single Snooze, rolling out a star-studded music video that features the likes of Justin Bieber and record producer Benny Blanco, as well as Netflix’s Beef actor Young Mazino.

The singer also appeared on Travis Scott’s UTOPIA album last month, featuring on his track Telekinesis along with US rapper Future.

Drake previously namedropped SZA on his 2021 track Mr Right Now, and appeared to hint that the pair have personal history. “Yeah, said she wanna f*** to some SZA, wait/Cause I used to date SZA back in ‘08,” he rapped.

“So It was actually 2009 lol,” she quipped, tweeting in response.

Drake’s new album For All The Dogs is due for release September 22.
