Talking terror: Eyewitnesses to terror attacks will share their experiences with visitors to the Imperial War Museum in May
Ailis Brennan16 April 2018

Survivors of terror attacks are set to discuss their experiences with members of the public at an Imperial War Museum event in May.

Conflict Café: Life After Terror will take place at the Lambeth museum on May 12, with eyewitnesses to terrorism holding informal drop-in discussions with visitors to the museum.

As part of the Imperial War Museum’s Age of Terror season, the session aims to explore and share how both individuals and communities are affected by acts of terrorism around the world.

Speakers at the event will include Janice Brooks, who was working in the World Trade Center on the day of the 9/11 attacks, survivors of the 7/7 London bombings Thelma Stober and Sudhesh Dahad and Geoff Ho, who was injured in the 2017 London Bridge attack.

They will also be joined by speakers from charities and educational institutions, including Liam Duffy, the director of UK educational charity SINCE 9/11 and Dr Charlotte Heath-Kelly, a senior lecturer in Politics at the University of Warwick.

The event is the second Conflict Café to be put on by the museum, following the inaugural session held last year as part of their Syria: A Conflict Explored season.

Conflict Café: Life After Terror will run from 11.30am-4.30pm on May 12 at Imperial War Museum. For more information, visit iwm.org.uk
