Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 is live across all platforms, adding a host of new content the game.

Warzone and Modern Warfare have gone through some changes, with new map locations for the battle royale mode and additional levels for standard multiplayer.

Activision confirmed that CoD season 5 would go live on August 5, and the download was available in the very late hours of August 4.

The download is out now and you can begin downloading it on your PS4, Xbox and PC. Be warned, the download is rather large, clocking in at over 50GB on PC.

Based on the new trailer, which you can see below, a lot of the 'story' action is going to be based around the Stadium and the nuclear weapon which is conveniently hidden in a bunker on Verdasnk.

Now the season is live, we know that the Stadium has been opened up, literally, as the Shadow Company blew its roof off.

This has added a brand new location to Verdansk which is massive, encompassing a football field and the inside structure.

The Train Yard is now in operation as well and has been expanded upon, and with this refurbishment a freight train jammed with loot is now making tracks across the map.

We have previously discussed the idea that a train filled with loot will be circling the whole map, just like the train in World's Edge from rival battle royale game Apex Legends.

This new group, called the Shadow Company, are the new playable operatives in the game and will feed into the overall narrative in some fashion.

Alongside the launch of Season 5, there's now confirmations that the next Call of Duty game, currently known as Call of Duty 2020 is happening.

Streamers were given early access to teaser videos which hinted at these upcoming changes being brought into season 5.

These videos showed us a train, an explosion happening at the Stadium and all bearing a timestamp of August 5, 2020.

Here is one of the teasers from July 21:

There will also be a free multiplayer weekend heading to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this Friday, which will run for five days.
