The foodstuff of nightmares

A cleverly made psychological horror from Hong Kong, Dumplings is largely set in the shabby flat of an ex-abortionist, who now specialises in special rejuvenation recipes.

The rich wife (Miriam Yeung) of an unfaithful husband (Tony Leung Ka Fai) visits for treatments which involve strange dumplings made with horrendous contents.

Fruit Chan's film has the advantage of some superb cinematography from Australian Chris Doyle, who brilliantly captures the atmosphere of nightmares.
