Films which avoid graphic sex scenes and feature moral messages earn far more at the box office, a survey has found.
Analysis of 1,120 cinema releases over four years shows 'feelgood' movies such as Finding Nemo, the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Spiderman earned an average £20.4million each.
But mainstream releases featuring explicit scenes took an average of just £9.6million.
The research by the American Christian Film and Television Commission also claims the majority of successful films had a 'moral worldview' or 'Christian worldview'.
