Not your average teen rockumentary

Paul Green started his hothouse for young rawk stars (9- to 17-yearolds) back in 1998 and it was the (unacknowledged) inspiration for the Jack Black comedy The School of Rock.

He's not bitter (not on camera, anyway) and uses Don Argott's documentary as a chance to show off his star pupils (a genius guitarist called CJ, a frowning folkie called Madi) and unconventional teaching methods.

Basically, this chubby heavymetal-devotee screams abuse from morning till night, while the kids titter nervously.

Frankly, he seems a plonker and - on meeting doleful student Will O'Connor ("I've tried to commit suicide many, many times") - you suspect/hope the whole film is a Mighty Windstyle spoof.

By the end, as the kids triumph at a Frank Zappa festival in Germany, you're ready to do a guitar solo with your teeth. Enjoy.
